1. Introduction & Core Philosophy
PrivaScan: Private PDF Scanner is developed by Commoditech Sp. z o.o. with an uncompromising commitment to user privacy and digital sovereignty.
Unlike conventional document scanners that upload your confidential records to external cloud servers, PrivaScan operates on a strict 100% On-Device / Zero-Cloud architecture. We do not collect, process, sell, transmit, or monitor your documents or personal data.
2. 100% On-Device & Zero-Cloud Processing
All core functionality of the application is executed exclusively on your local device's hardware:
- Document Scanning & Edge Detection: Performed entirely in local device memory using computer vision algorithms.
- Optical Character Recognition (OCR): Text recognition models run locally on-device. No scanned text or document images are transmitted to external AI servers or cloud APIs.
- Image Filters & Enhancement: Document processing, perspective warping, and color enhancement are computed locally.
- PDF Generation: The creation and rendering of PDF and JPEG files take place directly in your device's local sandbox storage.
PrivaScan operates zero cloud infrastructure. There are no external databases, remote backends, or third-party servers connected to your scanning workflows.
3. Data Collection and Sharing
- No Personal Data Collection: PrivaScan does not collect names, email addresses, device identifiers (AAID), phone numbers, or IP addresses.
- No Document Transmission: Your scans, images, and OCR text never leave your device without your explicit manual action.
- No Third-Party Trackers or Analytics: We do not integrate any tracking SDKs, user behavior analytics (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Adjust, AppsFlyer), or behavioral profiling tools.
- No Advertisements (Zero Ads): The application contains no advertising SDKs (such as Google AdMob or Unity Ads), ensuring no advertising identifiers or location coordinates are gathered.
4. System Permissions and Justification
PrivaScan requests only the bare minimum permissions strictly required to perform scanner operations:

Camera (
android.permission.CAMERA): Used solely to enable the viewfinder and capture document photographs when you press the scan button. The camera stream is processed in real time and is never transmitted or recorded in the background. - Storage / Media Access: Used exclusively when you consciously choose to import an existing photo or document from your local gallery, or when saving a finalized PDF document to your device’s storage.
5. User-Initiated Document Sharing
When you decide to share or export a document, PrivaScan delegates this task exclusively to the native Android System Share Sheet. You maintain complete control over which application (e.g., your personal email client, messaging app, or secure drive) receives the document. PrivaScan has no access to or intermediary role in that transmission.
6. Data Retention, Storage, and Deletion
All scanned documents, drafts, and recognized text are stored strictly within the app’s private internal storage directory on your device.
- You can delete individual scans or whole documents at any time within the application interface.
- You can delete all application data permanently by going to Android Settings → Apps → PrivaScan → Clear Storage.
- Uninstalling the PrivaScan application removes all locally cached documents and settings instantly and permanently.
7. Children's Privacy
PrivaScan is a general utility productivity tool and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 within the EU). We do not knowingly collect or solicit any information from children.
8. Compliance with EU GDPR / RODO
In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR):
- The User remains the sole and absolute controller of any personal data or documents processed via the application.
- Because Commoditech Sp. z o.o. does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data, no third-party data processing agreements or cross-border data transfers occur.
