Procurement asks for the "market rate". Job ads give monthly ranges, agency reports show hourly rates, surveys show declarations. Each source measures something different. We collected five public datasets from 2025β2026, converted them into Polish zlotys per hour, and placed them side by side. Where data is missing, we state that it is missing.
This is an index of rates from the specialist's side (B2B contractor). If you are looking for the hourly cost on the client's sideβthat is, including the IT staff augmentation provider's marginβsee the IT staff augmentation rate map 2026.
Methodology in five points
- What we measure: the specialist's rate on a B2B contract, PLN net (excluding VAT). This is not the rate on the client's invoiceβthe IT staff augmentation provider's margin is added to this figure.
- Conversion: monthly amounts are divided by 160 h (21 days Γ approx. 7.6 h). At 168 h, the hourly rate would be approx. 5% lower. Daily rate = 8 h. Rounded to 5 PLN.
- Mid: median from Just Join IT job postings (2025). Senior: from the lowest public median (Just Join IT or Bulldogjob) to the highest public upper bound (median of the upper ranges from No Fluff Jobs or the upper bound from the Hays report).
- Three types of data: (1) job ads β No Fluff Jobs, Just Join IT; this is an employer's offer, not a payout; (2) contractor expectations from recruitment processes β Hays IT Contracting 2026; (3) salary survey β Bulldogjob 2025.
- Period: data from 2025 up to September 2026. As of 15.10.2026, we found no public data for Q3 2026 broken down by specialization (No Fluff Jobs published data from 22.09.2026 broken down only by city). "Q4 2026" denotes the publication date of the index, not the measurement period. We do not average sources with different methodologies into a single number, nor do we fill gaps with estimates.

Four conclusions from the data
1. The spread between senior roles exceeds 1.5x
A senior QA on B2B is 130β135 PLN/h, a senior ERP/SAP consultant β up to 210 PLN/h, a senior architect β 190β200 PLN/h. A single "average developer rate" is not suitable for project budgeting. (NFJ Q1 and H1 2026, JJIT 2026)
2. The AI premium is small in medians, large in the upper brackets
The median for a senior AI/ML role in JJIT job postings (27,000 PLN/month) is approx. 6% higher than for a senior Python developer (25,500 PLN). The difference is only visible at the top end: Hays reports 150β210 PLN/h for an AI/ML Engineer with 5+ years of experience. You pay for production deployments, not for the word "AI" in the job title. (JJIT 2026; Hays IT Contracting 2026)
3. Rates are stagnant, movement is only in niches
Over 90% of IT companies surveyed by Hays expect single-digit or no salary increases in 2026. Senior B2B contractors in JJIT job postings gained 2.2% in 2025. In Q1 2026, NFJ recorded a decrease in B2B salary ranges for Agile/Scrum Masters (β8.9% lower, β6.3% upper) and an increase for ERP (+6.3% / +5.3%) and Security (+9.6% / +4.3%). (Hays 2026; JJIT 2026; NFJ Q1 2026)
4. Job postings for mids inflate the rate by approx. 20%
In the JJIT survey, mids on B2B earned approx. 15,000 PLN in reality, while the median of job postings was close to 19,000 PLN (β21%). Seniors on B2B received 1% more than what the job postings indicated. A budget calculated from job posting ranges is realistic for a senior, but inflated for a mid. (JJIT, IT Salary Report 2026, CAWI survey, over 4,400 respondents)
What this means for the buyer
The brief starts with seniority. According to NFJ, nearly 60% of job offers in Q1 2026 were directed at seniors, and about 5% at juniors. In H1, a senior job posting received an average of 19 CVs, while a junior posting received 47. Anyone looking for a senior competes with the majority of the market for a smaller pool of candidates.
The role title changes the rate more than the technology. "Python Developer" at JJIT has a senior median of 159 PLN/h. An AI/ML Engineer with 5+ years of experience at Hays goes up to 210 PLN/h. If the project requires deploying models to production, the brief must state this explicitly β otherwise, it will attract candidates from a different tier.
Data gaps are also information. For Dynamics 365 and test automation itself, there is no public data broken down by seniority. In these roles, the only reliable metric is conversations with candidates for a specific brief β e.g., for IT staff augmentation of Dynamics specialists or QA engineers.
A specialist's rate is not an invoice. All figures in the table are on the contractor's side. An IT staff augmentation provider's invoice additionally includes a margin: screening, replacement, NDA, accounting. When comparing supplier offers, it is worth asking for a breakdown into the specialist's rate and the markup β how to read this is described in the article on IT staff augmentation costs in 2026.
In the financial sector, the rate is just the beginning. If you are buying for a bank or an insurer, the specialist's same hour is subject to DORA requirements for ICT service providers β from the information register to contractual clauses. Details: DORA and IT staff augmentation: what the bank requires from the provider.
FAQ
How much does a senior Java developer cost per hour on B2B in 2026?
On the contractor side, public data indicates 155β190 PLN net/h: from the median of JJIT offers and the Bulldogjob survey to the upper bound of the Hays report. The IT staff augmentation provider's invoice will be higher by the margin.
Why is there no single "average IT rate" in the index?
Because sources measure different things: job offers, expectations, and declared earnings. Averaging them into a single number would yield false precision. We show the range and where it comes from.
Why is there no data for Dynamics 365?
None of the public reports separate Dynamics as a distinct category β it falls under ERP together with SAP and Oracle. Instead of guessing, we leave a visible gap.
